Mountain Yucca
Yucca madrensis

Family: Asparagaceae

A blueish leafed yucca growing 10-15’ tall, branching only a little, often solitary. This species flowers in late summer and fall with the rains.

Plant in full sun to shade, hardy to negative 5°F.

The species epitach, madriensis, refers to the Sierra Madre. Formerly called Yucca x schottii.

Found on slopes in Madrean pine-oak forests from 4,000-7,000’ in Arizona, Sonora, and Chuhuahua.
